$12,000,000 on behalf of a small Oregon company for

infringement (one of the largest verdicts of its kind in
Oregon);
-Lead defense counsel at trial and appeal in a seminal
copyright
case in the Seventh Circuit;
-Lead defense counsel in the groundbreaking, and heavily
publicized, internet law case involving the conversion of
the
“sex.com” domain in California;
-Cases involving wrongful death, employment discrimination,

Assistant Managing Attorney (1987-1993) in
Chicago law firm with

plan members under a benefit plan. Designed and implemented
systems
to track and measure attorney time by case type and task to

as a basis for optimizing attorney efficiency.
Managing Attorney (2002-2008) for Oregon staff counsel
offices
of Safeco Insurance Co., responsible for operation of two
offices
with fifteen attorneys. Office was responsible for
defending Safeco
customers in litigation throughout the State of Oregon, as
well as defending
Safeco in first party cases. Developed systems for
increasing capacity
without adding employees through carefully planned
utilization of contract
and temporary attorneys and support staff. Lead project
manager for
nationwide legal office outsourcing initiative.
